Tossa De Mar

Costa Brava
Spain
June 2022

Since having kids, my ability to plan and obsessively research hotels and restaurants has completely subsided and overtaken by the needs of 3 little people! Something it's something I really miss! But they do say spur of the moment things always turn out the best, and this last minute Spanish get away was a little gem! We booked on the Monday morning and checked in Monday afternoon with no real agenda. The resort we stayed at catered perfectly for no agenda with plenty of things to do with no need to go far if we didn't want to.

We made good use of the kid friendly pools, playground, games room, on-site restaurants, mini golf, futsal field. We adventured into Tossa de Mar town a very windy but short 5 minute drive from the resort for dinner on Tuesday night and then for lunch and a glass bottom boat adventure on the Thursday.

June is a perfect time to travel in Europe, just before the school holidays but still enough people for a little bit of a vibe and the great weather. This has always fallen in our favour with June being rugby off season.

The Costa Brava is so magical and I feel I never have enough time to soak in all the rugged costal coves with their blue waters. I managed to do part of a coast walk from the resort into Tossa de Mar.

It was a the perfect short unplanned getaway to fill up our Europe summer holiday cup!

Accommodation:

Pola Giverola Resort - Highly recommend especially for families. However is located on a cliff side, so be prepared to walk the steep hills around the resort.

Eating:

We ate mainly onsite at the resort restaurants which were hit and miss for quality in food. However they were very convenient, with a choice of a seafood restaurant, pizza & pasta restaurant and a buffet.

We did have dinner one night in Tossa de Mar town at By Kalau. Food was average, service was nice. We chose it just based on being waterfront and with a few of the castle.
